Faculty of Agriculture and Biotechnology Research Centre of UGM have initiated several collaborative research projects with Cirad on rubber tree. Further collaborations on agroforestry systems associated with food crops in particular under industrial cash crops such as rubber and oil palm are under discussion between AGAP Institute at CIRAD and the Department of Agronomy and Agrotechnology Innovation Centre (PIAT) under UGM.

During the visit, the UGM delegates met Dr Jean-Luc Battini, representative of the DGDRS-CIRAD, Dr Evelyne Coste and Dr Gilles Trouche, deputy directors of the AGAP Institute, and Dr Denis Fabre, who gave a tour of CIRAD's AbioPhen greenhouses used for research into crop adaptation to climate change.
