The RUBIS project is a project that supports the rubber development program in the long term. This activity is an initiative activity in a participatory scheme for a resilient rubber cultivation system for smallholders in the context of global change. Programs include repeating scientific questions and agricultural-based solutions to respond to rapidly changing socio-economic and environmental constraints. Also, the capitalisation of multidisciplinary and participatory studies is carried out to be useful for the application of on-farm evaluation trials. Ultimately, the feedback from in-farm evaluation trials should lead to adjustments for better system robustness.

The institutional system has been developed and determined to support the RUBIS Project's implementation. The institutional structure of the RUBIS Project includes the project Steering Committee (SC), Coordination Committee (CC), Liaison officers (LO), Workpackage leaders (WP), and the Advisory Committee. The SC team provides advice, ensure delivery of the project outputs and the achievement of project outcomes as well as support, guidance and oversight of progress. The CC team has the main task of monitoring the progress of schedule activities, the achievement of deliverables, the budget. The LO team is tasked with conducting management of the interdisciplinary dialogue & collective intelligence catalysis. WP leaders have to supervise the progress of research activities conducted in their respective WPs. The Advisory Committee has a function to promote the link with stakeholders and especially Indonesian governmental agency for funding the on-farm trials, and with other existing projects and other commodities. It also promotes the regionalisation of the project concept, at least in SEA countries with the help of SEARCA, EU, and governmental funds.

In WP 0, a sound communication system has been built to be used by all RUBIS Project members. This communication system includes Alfresco Share, project internet website (https://www.rubis-project.org/), Project Monthly NewsLetter, CIRAD server. CIRAD server is used to access genomic information related to the sequencing of rubber clones genome and genetic mapping. Besides, the CIRAD server becomes restricted access of the Hevea Genome Hub to the Project members during the project, and then public open access after the publication of data. In WP 0, a neat project timeline has also been prepared, both for activities that are monthly, annual, biennial, to the preparation of the final report and schedule of project meetings and workshops. Therefore, the RUBIS project will require data management and communication in the long term.
